Out of the Blue

Unique a capella group

  Out of the Blue

Out of the Blue is Oxford’s premier all-male a cappella group.  The original group was formed in 2000, although its members have changed over the years as the students have moved on from Oxford and Oxford Brookes universities.

With absolutely no instruments to back their vocals the boys recreate what can only be described as top studio sound, including drum and base. Their repertoire is an eclectic mix of songs, focusing on covers of rock and pop classics.

But they really grabbed the attention of the public when they appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011, reaching the semi-finals.  This group of fourteen vocally gifted Oxford students and friends, aged 18 – 22, completely wowed the audience and judges with their performance of 'Jump' and 'Flashdance - What a Feeling'.

Out of the Blue has been named European Champions of A Cappella three times, come second in the ICCAs twice, toured the USA, had sell-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe, won Voice Festival UK in 2009 and produced 12 CDs.
