Jimmy Carr
One of the most original and distinctive stars on television, radio, stage and now the big screen, Jimmy has enjoyed several hugely successful years.
Jimmy's annual DVD is a popular stocking filler, the most recent having been recorded at his record breaking 2008/2009 tour.
He has appeared on many other hit shows such as the Royal Variety Show (twice – and now booked for a third time for 2008), BBC1's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, BBC2's Top Gear, QI, Have I Got News For Your (panellist and guest hosting) and hosted several Specials such as C4's The Big Fat End of Year Quiz and Comedian's Comedian. Other UK television guest appearances include Des O'Connor Comedy Tonight (ITV) and Peter Cook: A Posthumourous Tribute (BBC2).
Jimmy is also fast becoming a face on US TV: He has performed a remarkable three times on NBC's Tonight With Jay Leno, and twice on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and return visits to both these shows are in the pipeline.
Jimmy's C4 hit series of Distraction (2 series on C4) gained it's 2nd series on Comedy Central in America and Jimmy also filmed 14 episodes as host of this cutting edge game show which transmitted in 2006. He has also made a half hour special for Comedy Central which still transmits on the network.
Jimmy's most recent series of Channel 4's '8 out of 10 Cats' transmitted in Autumn 2008.
Although Jimmy's profile is more as a television personality he started out and continues to be a very talented stand up comedian. Jimmy's first live show – Bare Faced Ambition – gained Jimmy a Perrier Nomination in 2002. National sell-out tours quickly followed with Charm Offensive in 2003 and Public Display of Affection in 2004, Off The Telly in 2005 and 2006 and Repeat Offender in 2007/2008.
With conventional media conquered, Jimmy is also a pioneer of digital comedy, topping the album charts on iTunes and the MySpace comedy rankings, with over 18,000 fans online. He has just become the first major comedian to perform within the online world of Second Life, gaining a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first comedian in cyberspace as a result.
Jimmy has completed three films: Confetti, Alien Autopsy, and Storm Breaker, all released in 2006.
