James Caan
James Caan is one of the UK's most successful and dynamic entrepreneurs and built up a multi-million pound fortune from recruitment. He is now the CEO and founder of Hamilton Bradshaw, a private equity firm which specialises turnarounds and development opportunities in the UK and Europe. From 2007 - 2010 he was one of the all-powerful investors in BBC2's ‘Dragons' Den’.
In the business world, James is a highly respected figure and in particular he understands the challenges facing SMEs and entrepreneurs in the UK today. His pragmatic, yet warm and impartial, approach appeals to a wide range of people and he is regularly in demand for his business insight and advice. To underline his level of expertise, James and his companies have received a number of awards, from BT's Enterprise of the Year to PricewaterhouseCoopers' Entrepreneur of the Year.
For 2011 James will be focusing on building Hamiton Bradshaw, with over 40 companies within its portfolio, as well as seeing through plans for some exciting new ventures. James is also be working with Vince Cable's new Business Forum as well as continuing as Chairman of the Big Issue, on the board of McCann Erikson and his philanthropic activity in the UK and abroad. His new book "Get The Job You Really Want" brings together 30 years of James' recruitment experience to help people of all ages in their job search or career.
James is an exceptional and charismatic public speaker. His talks are not only inspiring and energetic but most importantly, he draws on his own experiences to leave his audiences completely motivated.
James is married and lives in north London with his wife Aisha and his two daughters.
