Graham Keal
Graham was born in a prefab in Lincoln in 1951 and while still in short trousers he approached a moving Jaguar containing soap superstar Pat Phoenix. She was retreating from the traction engine rally she had just opened. Pat wound down the window, Graham made her laugh, and he has been chasing celebrities and making people laugh ever since.
At Lincoln City School he won the annual Declamation Contest, aged 17, with a comic speech on the corrupting power of The Magic Roundabout. At Manchester University and after Graham amused himself and audiences, compering and appearing in comedy reviews and charity shows, speaking to writers' groups and assorted gatherings.
Meanwhile the day job involving working for a local papers in Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Co. Durham before becoming London-based TV writer for a major regional group, then known as Westminster Press. He turned freelance in 1986 and after many years serving regional papers now freelances for national newspapers ranging from The Sun to The Daily Telegraph and most points in between, as well as writing for TV magazines (TV Quick, TV Choice, What's On TV etc) and women's magazines (Best, My Weekly).
