Tommy Docherty

One of the most colourful football characters in the business, Tommy has in his career managed Manchester United, Wolves, Chelsea, QPR (twice), Derby County, Aston Villa, Rotherham, Hull City, Preston, FC Porto, Sydney Olympic, Scotland and Altrincham. In fact, he often claims to have had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus! It was under Tom's guidance that Scotland qualified for the 1974 World Cup finals. However, his most memorable successes in management came at Old Trafford, where he created an exciting team which took Manchester United to the Second Division Championship in 1975 and FA Cup glory two years later, beating Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
As a player, he launched his career with Celtic, made 324 appearances for Preston and then moved further south with Arsenal and Chelsea. He also won 25 caps for Scotland.
