Garry Richardson
Garry Richardson has been a broadcaster for the BBC for over 35 years.
He is best known as the sports presenter on Radio Four's prestigious "Today" programme. He also presents "Sportsweek" on Five Live every Sunday morning and is a regular contributor to BBC Television.
Garry's big love is performing on the after dinner circuit and 2012 will mark his 26th year as one of the country's funniest speakers. His speech is a rich mixture of stories and anecdotes about his life in broadcasting including his incredible interview with President Clinton in Wimbledon's royal box, in front of 18 thousand tennis fans sitting under umbrellas and 10 million viewers on BBC 1.
Over the years Garry has performed to a wide range of clients on the after dinner circuit and he believes that his popularity as a speaker is down to his routine. As he says "All audiences will contain sports fans but even if you are not a sports fan my stories are so general it doesn't matter." This point is underlined by an appearance for the National School Bursars Association where 80% of the audience out of 250 were women. The organisation were so delighted with Garry's performance they booked him for their for their national event.
Garry has proved to be an outstanding success at corporate dinners - his mixture of anecdotes coupled with his attention to detail and his ability to deliver a well-crafted and humorous speech have made him a very popular choice.
