Shappi Khorsandi

Following a sell-out run of her one women show 'Asylum Speaker' at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival and an extended run at The Soho Theatre London, Shappi first hit our screens on BBC1's 'Lenny's Britain' and BBC4's 'Never Mind the Full Stops'. She then appeared on the popular Radio 4 panel game ‘Quote... Unquote’ and contributed to Radio 4's ‘From Tehran with Laughter.’

Her TV career has gone from strength to strength with regular appearnces on 'Question Time' and 'Have I Got News for You' as well as high profile comedy gigs including 'Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow' and 'Live at the Apollo.'

On radio Shappi has featured on 'Loose Ends', 'You and Yours', 'Just a Minute' and 'The News Quiz'.

Shappi is a sought after cultural commentator too, appearing on ITV's Sunday Edition, Radio 4's Woman's Hour, Radio 5 Live, BBC World Service & LBC and also in The Guardian, The Independent, Metro and on BBC News website. Shappi has presented a series for Open University and has been a regular roving reporter for BBC South's 'Inside Out'. as well as taking part in BBC4's 'The Big Read'

Not just a well known comedy personality in the UK, she has gigged internationally in the States, the Middle East, Singapore and Amsterdam.

Comedy is a family business for the Khorsandi's. In Los Angeles, Shappi performed in a seven week sell-out run with her brother in a show called How to be Iranian as well as starring in her own one hour show. Other work in America included a month-long tour supporting her Hadi father in his extremely popular stand-up show.

Feisty, flirty and effortlessly funny she handles every subject with a razor sharp wit, softened only by her deliciously dizzy delivery and endless charm.
