Katrina Leskanich

Katrina Leskanich is the singer of the best feel-good song on the planet ‘Walking On Sunshine’ celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2010.

This anthemic song can be regularly heard on radio, is widely used as a sound bite on radio and TV (Glee, American Idol, X Factor) as well as featuring in numerous adverts and major films such as American Psycho, The Secret of My Success, Look Who’s Talking, Hi Fidelity etc.

The song’s enduring popularity makes it instantly recognisable to all ages but that wasn’t always the case as the song was initially rejected by all the major labels between 1983 and 1985. Katrina and the band she fronted, 'Katrina & The Waves' were only signed when The Bangles covered their song ‘Going Down To Liverpool’. They then went on to have numerous hits including 'Do You Want Crying', 'Is That It', ‘Sun Street’, 'That's The Way' and 'Que Te Quiero' and performed all over the world with artists such as Wham!, Beach Boys, The Kinks, Pointer Sisters and at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Gardens.

Katrina was also the featured vocalist on Natalie Imbruglia’s 'Torn' and albums by Hanoi Rocks, Rick Wakeman and Holly Valance.

In 1997 Katrina and the Waves’ ‘Love Shine A Light’ won the Eurovision Song Contest with the largest ever margin, followed by an unprecedented four consecutive appearances on Top Of The Pops and a Number 3 in the UK Charts. The UK have not won Eurovision since…

Besides music Katrina has presented her own daily three hour Radio 2 programme, has starred in major musical productions and has even presented ‘Watchdog’ alongside Anne Robinson.

Katrina performs all over the world and has her own band put together in 2006. She is available for live vocal to track and guest appearances with her band.
