Laura, ITV weather presenter on Good Morning Britain loves to keep viewers informed and adds a little science along the way.
As a Met Office Meteorologist she also gives speeches on climate change.
Laura has had a varied career in meteorology since graduating from The University of Reading with a BSc in Physics & Meteorology in 2003.
She joined the Met Office as a forecaster soon after, her first role was commercial forecaster at Cardiff weather centre, providing weather forecasts for energy companies, gritters and local radio. In 2004 she provided local and global forecasts to Pilots and crew at RAF Brize Norton, flying local training missions, plus personnel & cargo all over the World.
In 2007 Laura joined the BBC weather centre as a broadcast meteorologist. She presented on various platforms from BBC 1 o’clock and 6 o’clock news to Countryfile, BBC world, BBC radio and online.
In 2012 Laura joined ITV Breakfast on Daybreak as Meteorologist and weather forecaster, keeping viewers up to date during some of the most severe weather we’ve ever seen, the wettest summer for 100 years, severe snow storms, Typhoon Haiyan and the wettest winter on record.
Among her other career highs are being the first person in the world to ride the Smiler roller coaster at Alton Towers, presenting from many farms with lots of naughty animals, modelling hats at Ascot, and presenting the weather with Steve Carell and Kermit the Frog.
Now on Good Morning Britain Laura loves to keep viewers informed about everyday weather, severe weather, plus any interesting weather from around the UK and World and adding a little science along the way. Laura is very passionate about communicating climate change to the ITV audience & has presented many items on GMB plus a Tonight special about the changing weather in the UK. In January 2020 she went viral when she challenged Australian MP Craig Kelly about his views on Climate change when talking about the Australian wildfires.
In January 2020 Laura had a trip of a lifetime visiting NASA in Houston. Interviewing astronauts about the new Artemis mission to return to the Moon, watching astronaut training on a lifesize international space station in the neutral buoyancy lab & even driving a Moon rover!
