Carl is a former world boxing champion, now turned pundit, who can now proudly ad "TEDx speaker" to his list of achievements.
He recently delivered an inspiring 20 min talk to a packed venue in Belfast, sharing the journey that took him to the top. He has now delivered keynotes at NI Chambers of Commerce dinnner, at the Vodafone conference, a Wing stop away day and most recently for TEDx.
Carl´s personality enables him to resonate with an audience, but it is also the content that is delivered in a way that connects with some of the themes the corporate are looking to address. Much about what Carl talks about, is that it wasn´t his talent, but his relentless hard work and determination that enables him to become regarded as one of the best sportsmen Northern Ireland has ever produced.
Within his talks he shares his focus on self-doubt and challenging your fears. All these learnings are now something he is passionate about bringing to the corporate world.
On turning pro in 2009, the Carl quickly climbed the ranks, winning both the IBF and WBA Super-Bantamweight belts, before going on to win the WBA Featherweight Championship.
In doing so he made history by becoming the first Northern Irish fighter to win a world title in two weight divisions. He is regarded as one of the most exciting boxers to watch in the ring, by having destructive punching power, intelligence and speed.
Carl’s popularity stems not only from his success in the ring but also the strength of his community and family values. Originally from the staunchly loyalist area of Tigers Bay in North Belfast, Carl grew up at the back end of the troubles in Northern Ireland and has spoken frequently about the positive influence boxing has had on his life.
Having first started at the age of 9, the sport exposed him to a strong mentor in the form of his coach, friends from across the community divide, and a drive and determination that allowed him to avoid some of the poorer choices on offer at that time.
Carl is now a prominent supporter of Integrated Education, campaigning for children from different religions to be educated together rather than in separate schools. As a Protestant married to a Catholic and with three young children he is determined to be a role model for the future of Northern Ireland and to ensure that the next generation grow up without the ingrained community prejudices of the past.
He is also passionate about promoting opportunity for young people, developing the social skills and career prospects of young people through sport. He can speak from the heart on the importance of making the right decisions, seeking the support of mentors and being single minded in the pursuit of your goals. In the 2016 New Year Honours Carl was awarded an MBE for services to boxing and the community.
Carl has gone on to have a successful media career by establishing himself as leading boxing pundit working with broadcasters TNT Sports and BBC and fronting documentaries looking into the mental health of young men.
Carl is available for Q&A and can speak powerfully on the following subjects:
• Setting goals and tracking them down
• Determination and sacrifice
• Teamwork
• Youth opportunity and the power of mentoring
• Social cohesion and conflict resolution
• Experience in the world of sport and moving into the business world
A sporting figure who can deliver a keynote speech!
Testimonials.
There’s always that worry when you put an elite sportsperson on a TEDx stage, that you’ll end up with an after-dinner speech or just a list of career highlights. But Carl Frampton delivered something completely different. What he shared was honest, raw, and deeply human. He didn’t rely on titles or fame, instead, he let us into his world briefly and then took us somewhere much bigger. He spoke about identity, legacy, and what it really means to perform at the very top. This was so much more than motivational, it was a genuine route to high performance, with ideas that can be applied in business, and beyond. For me, it’s right up there with some of the best TED and TEDx talks I’ve ever seen. As curator of TEDx Black Mountain, Carl didn’t just step onto the red dot for me, he made it his own. An unforgettable talk.

We booked Carl Frampton as a guest speaker for a Vodafone event. Carl was a superb speaker, delivering a keynote on leadership and teamwork, as well as fielding a Q&A. Carl is naturally charismatic and it was fantastic to get an insight into the mind of a highly successful athlete while also getting his take on leadership and what goes into building great teams. The questions were answered with thought and humour and we had multiple compliments from attendees. I highly recommend Carl as a guest speaker thanks again for engaging and entertaining everyone.

Carl told us some fascinating insights from his remarkable boxing career, and kept his talk open and relatable to all, whether boxing fans or not. We loved how he focused on self-doubt, and challenging your fears and with that anything is possible to get the most of your career, whatever industry you work in. Carl was also a delight to work with – personable, professional, and patient with the queue of us who wanted a photo at the end. I’d recommend Carl to anyone who’s looking for something engaging, inspiring and a bit different for a team away day or similar
