Born in Northern Ireland in 1945, Jennings is one of the great goalkeepers.  He played for Tottenham Hotspur for 13 years before moving to Arsenal.  He was named Footballer of the Year in 1972-3.

Jennings made 119 International appearances for Northern Ireland and 757 League appearances between 1966 and 1987 (48 Watford, 472 Tottenham Hotspur and 237 Arsenal).  He was at the centre of two of the most remarkable World Cup campaigns of the time, Northern Ireland's of 1982 and 1986.  In the former, his calm solidity helped his country reach the quarter finals.
